So, you may or may not love Valentine’s Day. But like it or not, it’s coming in a few weeks, and I believe we can choose to make it extraordinary. Last year on Valentine’s Day, I cried a lot. Over a broken heart. I was missing Baby Banana so much. At that time, Scott and I really had no certainty of being forever parents. Anyway, I’m regretful that I didn’t make it a little more special. Valentine’s Day is the day to celebrate love and our loved ones! So this year, I’m wearing something Valentine-sy. I’m eating a big serving of chocolate. And, I’m going to celebrate all the love that surrounds me, every day! So, let’s get to the fun part. What to wear for Valentine’s Day?
What to Wear on Valentine’s Day?
You are what you eat. You are what you say. And, you are what you wear! That being said, try to choose a look that will not only go with whatever you’re doing, but a look that will bring out how you want to feel. And, of course, try to mix in some red, pink, white, and/or black. It’s really that simple!
Ok, so a form-fitted red dress may make you nervous. (Most likely, you look better in it than you think.) But, there is a difference between form fitted and skin tight. Not to mention, a three-quarter length black duster can help offset any insecurities while still helping you feel stunning and sexy! Clearly, this look is reserved for a hot date in a nice restaurant. (Which, lets be honest, most of us will not be doing on Valentine’s Day. Lol)
Feeling Cute & Flirty
I’m a fan of baby-doll dresses because they are so cute and fun. I prefer a wider or flared fit to keep it more conservative. Since it is a shorter dress. I think they look great with a dressy (or faux fur) vest. At least the same length or longer. I found a great pink faux fur vest from Amazon that is prettier in person. And, such a great price! But, feel free to experiment with different add-ons. From jackets to scarves, etc.
Feeling Smart & Sassy
You’re going out with some coworkers? Or perhaps a night out to celebrate your female compadres! You want to dress smart and chic. Think trendy tops with flattering jeans and boots. Don’t forget the power of a jumpsuit. Or a form fitting blazer over a cami.
Feeling Simple and Comfy
Ordering Chinese food? Having a laxed day at the office? Heading to a movie? Think pink or red sweaters, jeans, and boots.
But, if you’re staying home, and wanting to keep things as low key as possible, that’s ok. I have a lot of days like this. Lately I picked up a few cute tees and jogger pants that I love.
I have a feeling Scott and I will stay home for Valentine’s Day and keep it simple with our current love, Baby Blue! So believe it or not, I’ll be wearing something comfy. Our Anniversary is at the end of February. Ten years, baby! I’ll be reserving my sexy red dress for that.
I’d love to hear what your plans are for Valentine’s Day in the comments, below! Whatever you end up doing on Valentine’s Day, I hope you feel your very best celebrating all the love in your life.
