I don’t know about you, but I have a love/hate relationship with Black Friday. On one hand, I love a great deal, just like the next girl. But, I love Thanksgiving a lot more. The idea of cutting this holiday short to save some money is a tempting trap. Not to mention, I would rather pay someone to stand in a claustrophobia-induced crowd, on my behalf. (And, that kinda puts me back at square one.) Last but not least, it’s so confusing to figure out what to buy and where to find it. So, in this blog post, I’m going to share some tips I have learned, that can help you get the most out of your Black Friday. While saving you TIME and money. Because both are pretty sacred, this time of year!
Nothing compares to celebrating the holidays with children. Most of us remember the days of excitement, wonder, and expectation that filled our childhood days with joy. Scott and I are so grateful to celebrate the upcoming holidays with our two year old son, Chase. Even though, I fear, this may be the last Christmas without the pressure of hunting down the unreasonably popular, most-requested toy. So, for those of you who do have children old enough to make such requests (in some cases, demands)… This Kids Gift Guide is for you.
You would think it’s easier to shop for men. They’re supposedly more laid back and less complex. And yet, every year, I struggle to find the perfect holiday gift for my husband, Scott. Sometimes, we’ll joke around and I’ll remind him how easy it is to shop for me! “I would love anything from Nordstrom, Loft, Anthropologie, Kendra Scott, Lagos, etc.” But, Scott is super picky and prefers to buy things himself. Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of research on unique men’s gift ideas. I discovered a bunch of things that have more originality. As of today, Scott does not own anything, on this list. But, I think he’d love anything that falls into his category. Therefore, I’m calling this The Ultimate Men’s Gift Guide. Because if Scott would love it, I’m sure your man will, too!
Dear Friend. I have a message for you, today. I know during our most difficult circumstances, we struggle with a lot of fear. Whether it’s a recent loss of a loved one, a break up with the love of your life, unemployment, sickness, depression, you name it… FEAR can make its way into our mind and hearts.
“I’ll never recover from this. I’ll never be the same. I’ll never be able to move on. I’ll never be happy. I’ll never be able to replace what I just lost…”
But there is something that takes root at the very first moments of despair, and that is RESILIENCE. It’s a God-given characteristic that we all possess. Whether we know it or not. Or like it or not. Life may not get easier. But one thing is for certain, we will get STRONGER and more RESILIENT.
Scott and I just got home from a long weekend in Las Vegas. He surprised me with Celine Dion tickets, for my birthday. (Back in September.) I was a little concerned that it would be too much to travel to Las Vegas for a concert. Neither one of us wanted to spend too much money or run out of time to get our money’s worth. So, we agreed on the highlights we both wanted to see and do, and took it from there. Best of all? We did not break the bank. So, before you head out to Vegas for a long weekend, have a look to see how we spent our 72 hours!
In spite of the fact that it is officially FALL, it still feels like summer in New Jersey. Nevertheless, it’s a great time to shop for booties. They are the perfect transition between sandals and tall boots. They’re all much more versatile than tall boots. Right now, there are so many great styles. But, there are FIVE Fabulous Fall Booties that I could not wait to show you!
