Fall Favorites ~ 2018

Fashion & Lifestyle

Hey Girlies! Last Fall, I started (or at least attempted to start) a seasonal blog post containing my current, favorite things. Somehow, it dropped off my radar. So I never did post a winter, spring, nor summer post. SORRY! If you recall, Baby Blue arrived last fall. And, we still had Baby Berry for a few months. I think that about explains itself. LOL So, here we go again. I’m sharing my favorite things, this season. From food items to home decor, my favorite book, DUPES, beauty and fashion items, baby products, and more.

Fall Favorites 2018

Faux Fur Slippers Oh, my. Oh, my! I wan to live in these cozy slippers. And, for almost a third of each day, I do! And, for less than $20, I consider it one of my favorites amongst favorites! I think these will make some great holiday gifts for your moms, sisters, wives, friends, etc. And, boxed with a coffee mug, perhaps a cozy robe ,or throw blanket? I mean who wouldn’t be in their glory?

Hope in Front of Me by Danny Gokey Scott and I recently attended Danny Gokey’s concert in Wilkes Barre, Pa. We also got to meet him and he signed my book! Danny Gokey was 2nd runner up on the 8th season of American Idol. I’ve, since then, admired him. Not just because he auditioned a few weeks after his young, beloved wife died of a heart condition. But, he has a contagious spirit of joy, HOPE, and faith. His book is about his story. How he chose HOPE to move forward and not live in the past. His life has obviously become a success in that he is an award winner song artist. And, he is happily remarried with beautiful children. We all go through heartaches. I’ve had my share, as many of you know. (And walked with me through it.) His book (and of course, his music!) has been a favorite for me, this fall. I highly recommend it to anyone who is choosing to hope for God’s best! Regardless of her circumstances, today or yesterday.

PS. Check out some of my favorite Danny Gokey songs! Hope in Front of Me. Tell Your Heart to Beat Again. Masterpiece.

Cashmere Cardigan I am a sucker for anything soft and cozy. What can I say? My life is simple these days. So, I’d rather be comfortable over super stylish. HOWEVER. This cardigan is gorgeous! I’ve already gotten tons of compliments on it. (I have probably already worn it, a dozen times out!) It’s not cheap. I was fortunate to snag it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so I saved $100. I love this cardigan so much. In my opinion it is worth. every. penny. (Great gift for someone REALLY special. ; )

Instant Pot Holy cow! Why didn’t I have one of these when I was a teacher or school administrator? The last thing I wanted to do upon coming home from such a hard day was cook a lavish meal. Aside from the prep and clean up, this pot is a LEGIT time saver, when it comes to cooking! I am now doing Cooking Demos with my Instant Pot on Instagram. Follow me, there, to watch! We have a lot of fun. ; )

Cetaphil Redness Relieving Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 20:

I have been on the hunt for a good moisturizer that contained SPF. I also was looking for something that was relatively “clean” and free of a lot of toxins. Evidently, this particular product, made by Cetaphil has a good score on the EWG website. The product claims:

  • no fragrance added, phthalate-free, paraben-free
  • Non, comedogenic, Fragrance free
  • Dermatologist developed and tested

I love how this makes my skin glow. I mean really glow! And, it’s only about $12! I am a fairly new fan of this product. So, I’m including this in my list of Fall Favorites.

The Chloe Dupe Bag: I was never one to buy a “Dupe”. As much as I appreciate a good label with a good reputation, I’d rather buy whatever best quality I can get, that is in my price range. I love the style of the Chloe Faye Bag. The real Chloe Faye bag. But, I’d rather spend that kind of money on a vacation with Baby Blue! It just is not in my desired price range, when it comes to buying clothes, shoes, bags, etc. for myself. Unless it’s like my 10th Anniversary present or something monumental. Anyway, I happened to hear that the Amazon Dupe of this bag was AMAZING! It not only had a much lower price tag, it had the look and feel of the read deal! With its beautiful, buttery soft leather and iconic hardware. I ordered it, thinking I had nothing to lose. (Amazon Prime is cheap shipping with free returns!) And, oh my gosh, I’m so glad I gave it a try! I am loving my Chloe Dupe Bag. Even if Chloe never made this bag, I’d want the exact bag that I now have. Thank you, Amazon!

Barefoot Dreams Blanket

Where have you been all my life? Said the girl to the Barefoot Dreams Blanket upon cuddling with it, on their first day together! Scott and I have recently begun decorating our bedroom at The House on High Street. (We hadn’t really done anything aside from moving old furniture in with a few pieces from auctions. Anyway, we are taking out time. But, so far we put down a custom-cut carpet, replaced the headboard and comforter set on the bed. AND, I got a Barefoot Dreams blanket! I used to think these blankets were way overpriced. Until I felt one! And, let me tell you. I have been wrapped up in this thing for at least a few hundred hours these past few weeks! I think everyone deserves a Barefoot Dreams Blanket, and I will probably add one or two on my Christmas shopping list for some special people. : )

Leith Ruched Body-Con Tank Dress  Out of everything I’ve ever shared with my followers on Instagram, the Leith Ruched Body-Con Tank Dress is hands-down the most popular purchase! Again, unless you try it, you may not understand the greatness behind it. It’s made very well and it’s very, VERY flattering. It will suck you in and smooth you out! It also can be worn year round! In the winter, I love wearing it with my long cashmere cardigan. It’s just such a classy, timeless look. If you are even searching for the perfect LBD (Little Black Dress), this would fit the bill. : ) It comes in a dozen colors, long sleeve, and longer in length. But, this particular style, in black is my fav!

A Star is Born ~ The Movie  I figured I’d add a movie to this list since Scott and I actually went to a movie, recently. Anyway, holy moly, I don’t know where to start on this movie. The music and soundtrack? AWESOME! Bradley Cooper? Duh, awesome! And, a great singer, too. Go figure. Lady Gaga? Wow. She may be nominated for an Oscar. That girl is not just made to be a powerhouse singer. Scott and I both enjoyed this movie so much. I had never seen the original versions. (There are three other versions dating back to 1937.) Call me partial, but this one is the best! I already own the soundtrack and I cannot wait to see one (hopefully both) of these actors win an Oscar.
