There are a few reasons why I decided on artificial flowers for my outdoor flower pots at The House on High Street. I don’t exactly have a green thumb and watering plants is not on my priority list. Surprisingly, silk flowers can be a lot less expensive. And, not just in the long run! (They can last a few years as opposed to one season.) Last but not least, it took me only five minutes to put these pots together!
I’ve been using silk flowers in my home for many years. I love how they hold up. I don’t need to worry about watering too much or not getting enough sun. But, this is the first time I created an outdoor flower pot with artificial flowers.
Artificial Flowers for Outdoor Flower Pots
Would you believe it cost less than $30 to decorate this flower pot? The flower pot is a little under two foot. Scott picked up two of these, at Target, for $59.99. Next, Scott helped me fill both pots with mid-sized pond rocks. We got those on sale, at Lowes, 3 bags for $10.
Last but not least, I assembled 8 artificial stems.
Starting with the center: tall grass and a tall flower.
Followed by: Mid-sized flowers going around the grass.
Finishing with: A few hanging plants along the edge of the pot, to give it a grand touch.
I purchased all of the stems at Joanns, because they were having a great sale. (60% off) But, I’m providing links, for the flowers, via Joanns & Amazon. So, you can price compare, yourself.
And, that’s it, friends! What do you think? Have you ever tried using artificial flowers, outdoors? Let me know if you plan on trying it this summer!
