I’m on a roll creating gift guides for the 2018 holiday season! Most recently, I’ve been doing research on some of the most popular tech products (of 2018), with the highest ratings. What do they all have in common? They all require recharging. And, they all add a little extra (information, a service, simplicity, etc.) to our lifestyles. Turns out, most of these items could be well suited for even the non-techie person, in your life. I know that I’ll be adding some of these popular tech products, to my holiday shopping list, for certain!
Popular Tech Products of 2018
Here are some of the most popular tech products that I’ve rounded up, so far.
Wireless Earbuds~Stereo Bluetooth Headphone with Mic by Larnn
I would love these wireless, bluetooth earbuds!! Can I just tell you how many times my earbud chord gets tangled or ripped out of my phone? Especially, when I’m at the gym. It actually drives me crazy. Scott bought me a pair that sits on your neck. But, that kept sliding off, as well! I will point out that these wireless earbuds may be easier to misplace. But, they do come with a charging box (also portable). Also, it only takes 60 minutes to fully charge itself. This has a perfect 5-star review, so far, on Amazon. It retails for $44.99
Portable Chargers 16750 RAVPower
Speaking of portable chargers, this device is really great as a backup charger when you are away from home. (Scott and I always take one when we go out for the day.) I like this one because it has dual charge capability. So, we can actually share this and recharge both of our phones, if necessary. It’s also super high powered! This retails for $35.99.
Who doesn’t like to hear music in the shower? (If you sing along, you sound great, for sure!) This tech-gadget does more than play music (via Bluetooth) connected to a cell phone or nearby device. You can even take phone calls on it. It’s friendly design allows you to suction to your shower wall and/or hang it, bring it wherever you like! It is very highly reviewed on Amazon. And, for under $20, this would make a great gift for just about anyone.
APEMAN Dash Cam 1080P FHD DVR Car Driving Recorder
Have you ever watched a high-speed chase? Or those videos of a deer crashing into a car? Well, these dash cams can actually come in handy for many purposes. If you’re in a fender bender, you have it recorded. And, anything you see from the road you will have it saved. This particular model also has a super wide lens for more coverage. It’s surprisingly moderately priced at only $44.99.
Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Lighting Switch Starter Kit
We actually use this Lutron device for our automatic blinds (in our bedroom and family room). It is so nice not having to get up and physically open and close nine large windows, twice a day! This kit, which includes a Smart Bridge, an In-Wall Dimmer, Remote Control, and Wallplate Bracket will help you control (and/or schedule) lights and other devices. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Carrier Cor, Ecobee, the Google Assistant, Nest, Honeywell, Logitech, Samsung SmartThings, Sonos, Serena Shades and more. Scott loves being able to control the blinds and lights from his phone! Because you can turn on lights before you even get home! This retails for $99.95.
Fitbit Alta HR, Special Edition
Every wrist I see, lately, is adorned with a Fitbit! The Alta HR is Fitbit’s most sleekest design. It comes in several colors and retails around the price range of $128-$148. I tried a Fitbit a few years ago, and I don’t even remember which make/model it was. I think it had a glitch and I gave up on it. However, the Alta HR is so stylish I would wear this even without the features! (Ok, I would want to use them, too. Especially for tracking my resting non-workout heart rate patterns, now that I carry a 20lb baby boy around most of the day! lol)
Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detector
Scott got this security camera system, shortly after we moved into The House on High Street. I’ll tell you, Scott loves having control over anything and everything (if possible) from his cell phone! It is really cool though to see when UPS is on our front step (or a deer in our backyard), even when we’re not at home. Even though this is an “indoor” system, you can place them in any dry location, and as long as it’s within its operating temperature range (32 to 95 degrees F). It has a motion detector and alarms your phone so you can see live streaming. This is something I think every homeowner would love! It’s a safety feature worth the investment for yourself, as well. Retails for $99.99 for one camera. $169.99 for two cameras.
USB Fast Charging Station ~ by Dimco
I included this in one of my Holiday Gift Guides from last year. It was a big seller! Perfect if you have more than one device! (Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod and Android smartphones, tablets, cameras, eReaders, Bluetooth headsets, speakers, etc.) You can charge up to six devices with one battery. And, best of all, it keeps things neater and more organized! Great for families with teenagers! This particular model (Dimco) had a perfect 5-Star rating on Amazon. Retails for $25.
Bluetooth Camera Remote Control for Smartphones by CamKix
At only $8.49 this is another great item for ANYONE who takes photos from a cell phone. Finally, you can place your phone somewhere, other than in your hand, and simply use this remote to snap a photo. Genius! GREAT Stocking stuffer!
3.5mm Audio Stereo Y Splitter Extension Cable by UGREEN
Every time Scott and I fly, together, we download a movie on our iPad and use this splitter so we can BOTH connect our earbuds. This is a very practical and simple device. For $6.99. Perfect for families or couples who travel together and want to share a device.
Ok, there you have it. Please check back soon, as I may be adding on to this list throughout the holiday season. There are already a few of these items in my online shopping carts!
