So, you’re hosting Thanksgiving, this year? Congratulations! Or, shall we say, Good Luck? Last year was our first Thanksgiving at The House on High Street. I remember feeling excited and nervous. Thankfully, it was a success. I think the best advice I can give you is to plan ahead and pace yourself. I actually created my own Thanksgiving Countdown! So, here are some tips for you in preparing for one of the greatest holidays, ever. Have fun!
This is my favorite time of the year! I love the colors of fall. The smell of the crisp air. The boots, scarves, and hats that come out of my cedar closet. And, of course everything pumpkin! Pumpkin pie, pumpkin beer, pumpkin martini’s, pumpkin scented candles…
If you’re just joining in, a while back, I published a post about my 5 day itinerary in Tuscany. Here, I will continue with 7 nights in the Amalfi Coast and Rome.
This past weekend included a bunch of “firsts” for me. My first time using Airbnb to book overnight accommodations. My first time leaving Cooper home, with his new dog-sitter. My first Country Music Festival. And, my first time seeing Carrie Underwood, live! It was all just amazing!
For those of us who love to travel, when visiting a new place, we hope to get the most out of our time and money. Undoubtedly, social media is a convenient and helpful resource that can make a huge difference on a traveler’s wallet and itinerary. Personally, I refuse to travel before reading the typically-reliable reviews, on websites such as tripadvisor, of those who have already “been there and done that”.
Yesterday, I visited my first Chestertown Historic House Tour, in Pennsylvania. Scott’s Godfather, Uncle Curt, bought us tickets and graciously volunteered to coordinate and chaperone our day. (I must say he is as good if not better in coordinating a field trip than I am, and I was a teacher for twelve years!)
