Favorite Things ~ Fall 2019

Fashion & Lifestyle

It seems like every few weeks, I discover something new to fall in love with. Between the changing of seasons, having a growing toddler, and networking with other content creators… I’m constantly learning or trying something new. In today’s blog post, I’m sharing my favorite things. All of which, I am enjoying this fall season.

Favorite Things ~ Fall 2018

Even though it feels like “Indian Summer”, with temperatures a little too warm for “Fall”, we are officially in the throws of PUMPKIN EVERYTHING! I’m almost apologetic to those who are not exceptionally keen on pumpkin flavors. Because everywhere you go, everything is bursting with PUMPKIN.

Fortunately, for me, I love pumpkin flavored things. : ) So, I’m sure it goes as no surprise that the first thing on my list is…

Pumpkin Flavored Pancakes

Oh, deary me. I am obsessed over this pancake mix. A few years ago, my friend Carrie got me hooked. And, since then I think Scott and I have gone through at least 30 boxes. They are only stocked, at Trader Joe’s, during the fall season. And, they sell out FAST! (Of course, if you’re desperate for them, you can buy them off of Amazon. But, they are marked up 3x the price!) Just goes to show you the demand.

If you can get your hands on a box of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Pancake Mix, do try the GLUTEN FREE version! (Yes, even if you don’t have a need or desire for gluten free.) Because you’d never know they are gluten free! They are that good. Believe me. I’ve tried many-a-gluten-free versions of pancake mix. This one, by far, takes the cake!!

Fall Favorites

I don’t know about you, but I am LOST whenever I go to a liquor store. I can never seem to find what I’m looking for! Half of the time, I’m describing my palette to one of the workers, who is looking at me like I have three heads! “I want something smooth. And, sweet. But, not too sweet. Like fruit sweet. Apple, preferably. Not like GRAPES. I know wine is made from grapes! And, NO. I don’t like dry. I prefer cold. Oh, some reds can be chilled?)

Poor liquor-store-working-fellow.

So, you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to try WINC WINES! I love everything about this brand. First off, you can take a quiz so you can be matched with the perfect wine for your pallet. (Yes, it somewhat feels like a dating website. lol) Winc Wines are also considerably low in price. (They start at $13 a bottle.) And, they are sent to your doorstep. Yay! No need to go into a liquor store!

Last but not least, Winc offers a membership program where you get even better (Club) prices. Seriously, this is like the perfect gift for newlyweds or a BFF. Or, yourself! Check it out: WINC WINES! And, use my promo code: rachelmaria to get $22 off your first order.

Water Beads

Water Beads by Motherhood Union Use code: rachelmaria for 20% off.

Friends, I must confess. CHASE is a wild man with a 3 second attention span. Our play time typically consists of: Shoes on: Let’s go outside! Shoes off: Oh, you want to play with the water? Shoes on: If you want to run, you need your shoes on, bud. Shoes off: You want to go in, now?

Heavens. To. Betsy.

Last week, I was gifted a tiny package of these rainbow colored beads. They were teensy weensy! But, after adding about a pitcher’s full of water, they swell and become marble-sized, soft capsules of JOY! I was afraid they would be a choking hazard, but Chase is beyond the putting-everything-in-his-mouth stage. This is also meant to be a 100% supervised activity. But let me tell you… CHASE LOVED IT. He played with these water beads for a good 20 minutes straight. (This is like 2 hours for the average child who has an average attention span!) Not to mention, I enjoyed them, as well. They feel sooooooo good! You can get two packs for $9.97 on this website. (Use code: rachelmaria and get 20% off!).Check it out!

After the water beads absorb the water. They are the size of small marbles.

Rubbermaid’s Lunch Blox

Not sure if you heard the news on my Insta-Story… Chase started part-time Day Care! I had to do it. As an only child (and let me add a VERY SOCIAL AND OUTGOING child), I knew I needed to allow Chase the opportunity to be around his peers. Anyway, I am now packing a lunch for Chase. Three times a week. I recently discovered Rubbermaid’s Lunch BLOX, and let me tell you. I LOVE IT! It has an attachable ice pack. And, the compartment size is perfect for a small lunch. For just $6.45, you can’t beat it! (You can also buy a little larger, rectangular size, for $15.27.) I also love how the smaller containers just pop on to the lid on the larger container, and the ice pack. So cool!!!!

Vegan Suede Moto Jacket by PEACH

This moto jacket (by Peach’s “Into the Wild” collection) is one of my favorite pieces to wear, this fall. It’s a gorgeous lightweight, vegan-suede material. It pairs so nicely with a thin sweater, a cami, a tee, you name it! I’m pretty crazy about all the fall pieces that are showcased, this season, by Peach. Be sure to check out my recent blog post showcasing all of my picks from their “Into the Wild” collection.

Butternut Squash Ravioli

Butternut Squash Ravioli

I actually made this, two years ago, for the first time. I was regretful that it had taken me so long to make it. Butternut Squash ravioli is a LOT easier than it looks. And, a LOT tastier than you can ever imagine. In this blog post, from last year, it was listed as one of my TOP Recipes for Fall. Please give it a try. I’m totally available to join you for dinner, on this one. LOL

Fall Colored Nails

Fall Favorite Things

A medley of brown, taupe, grey, and charcoal makes a gorgeous set of nails. Try mixing up colors. Don’t be afraid to use more than one. Especially, if you’re like me, and you can’t decide which one you like best!

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

Homemade Pumpkin Latte

There’s several homemade pumpkin spice latte recipes, online. They’re all pretty much the same. Basically, add coffee, pumpkin puree, allspice, and milk to a sauce pan. Whisk until blended. You can also add sugar, but I recommend maple syrup! And, whatever you do, don’t forget the whipped cream and cinnamon sprinkled on top. HEAVEN IN A CUP!

Football Season!

This is the time of year when Scott and I start hostessing events, at The House on High Street. (I know. It’s been a while!) Personally, I’m just not into it, during the summer months. But, the fall is perfect because of the weather and FOOTBALL. (Go EAGLES!!) I can’t promise that my love for football season is exclusive without buffalo wings and a cold pumpkin beer. Seriously, give me all three and I will not want to get off my couch!
